Dr. Amy Nyquist was born and raised in Northeast Iowa. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Iowa State University in 2000. She then graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2004, receiving the President’s Award for leadership in Optometry. Dr. Nyquist was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Honors Society and was named to the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges 2004. After graduation, Dr. Nyquist practiced in Hutchinson, MN for 3 years before joining the Regional Eye Specialists team in July of 2007.
Dr. Nyquist is a primary eye care physician who enjoys patients of all ages, has an outgoing personality and a genuine concern for her patients. Dr. Nyquist is as comfortable with a child’s first eye exam and pair of glasses as she is monitoring a patient’s eye health at any stage of life.
As a member of the American Optometric Association, Dr. Nyquist has volunteered at the Minnesota State Fair to do vision screenings. She has also traveled to San Blas, Mexico to provide free eye care with the Lions Club.
When not in the office, Dr. Nyquist enjoys playing volleyball, biking, and volunteering in her sister’s first grade classroom. Dr. Nyquist also enjoys helping her husband on their farm outside of Cokato and spending time with family.
